All workshops and scholarship ages are as of January 1, 2025. The ages listed below should be used as guidelines. A Studio Owner, Director, and/or Teacher may decide to move the dancer up or down an age grouping based on the dancer’s maturity and ability. Please note, if a studio representative determines a need for a dancer’s change in level it must occur within the first two classes. The studio representative must inform the AOM desk staff so they can switch out wristbands. There will be a charge on level upgrades but NO REFUND for downgrades. Some cities will have Teen & Senior rooms combined.
(Dance studios may apply their own additional fees, if necessary)

Registration & Check-in
- – Registration for Season 10 will open on July 15th. At that time studio owners and directors will be able to go in and easily add their dancers and competition routines. They will also be able to pay their invoices in the portal. For on site registration it will be a case by case policy, and is dependent on how many students are already in attendance at the event. If there are questions at any point during the registration process, our staff will be standing by to help. Please contact [email protected] with any concerns.
- – Our registration table at the events will be available Friday night for early check-in, and Saturday morning before classes start. Our staff will have your registration packets ready with all paid wristbands and a copy of the invoice. All invoices must be paid before the event and all event waivers must be completed prior to the event. Payment must be US fund only. We accept checks, debit, credit, and cashier’s checks. Please make checks out to ART OF MOVEMENT and they can be sent to our company address which is 1900 East 27th Street #104 Signal Hill, CA 90755.
- – If the event is completely canceled refunds will be processed within two weeks of the cancellation for all affected parties. Any other refunds will be addressed on a case by case basis, please have the studio owner/director contact [email protected]. Refunds will be returned via method of payment within two weeks of the event.
Observers
- – Observers will be allowed if they have an Observer Wristband. You will be able to purchase these prior to the event or onsite for $50.
Teachers
- – Teachers will be given a free Teacher band after they register five dancers, they will receive an additional free band for every 15 dancers after that. The price for an additional Teacher band will be $150. This will give you access to all of the rooms as well as our Teacher classes which will be with Art of Movement Faculty throughout the weekend. We will also have a Teacher forum on Sunday where lunch will be provided. This forum is a way for studio directors, owners, and teachers to continue fostering the community in each city.
Scholarships
- – There are multiple opportunities throughout the weekend for dancers to earn scholarships. One way to receive a scholarship is through our solo and duo/trio competition. The Top 3 in each age category for both solos and duo/trios will be able to receive scholarships to future AOM events. Please note that depending on the size of the competition, it may not necessarily be a Top 3 and could be only the highest placing solo that receives a scholarship for that city.
- – Another opportunity for dancers to earn a scholarship is through our scholarship audition which happens on Saturday’s. This audition is meant to model what an audition could look like in a professional setting and gives dancers the opportunity to practice proper audition etiquette and gain some audition experience. Dancers will learn a combination the hour before the audition and then the AOM Faculty will narrow down the room to a few scholarship finalists. These finalists will re perform in the closing show on Sunday, after which the scholarship awards will be announced.
- – The last opportunity for dancers to receive a scholarship is through our class scholarships. At Art of Movement we value diverse training, and provide a learning environment that is supportive no matter where you are in your dance journey. If your dancer really excels at Hip-Hop but is not as confident in Contemporary, no worries! Our faculty will be writing down numbers in class throughout the weekend for dancers that really shine in their classes. These dancers will be eligible for a scholarship to a future AOM event, and this will also be announced at the closing show.
ATP
- – Another unique aspect of AOM is our Assistant Training Program (ATP). We will be opening online applications for ATP on June 30th, and the deadline for that will be July 31st. Our Assistant Training Program will give students the opportunity to learn and assist each convention weekend while offering exclusive ATP classes as well. We will be announcing our ATP Members on August 9th.

Mini Movers
- – One of the highlights of our event is that we have a great Mini Mover Program. Our mini movers are our youngest age group (ages 9 & Under), and we focus on providing an age-appropriate pace and education. For our mini movers there is no stress of auditioning and they learn a combo that they will then get to perform in our Closing Show at the end of the weekend. In this closing show performance they will be allowed to wear whatever they want, but make sure to come check out our AOM Shop for some mini mover gear!
Convention Etiquette
- – Art of Movement strives to create a safe and supportive learning environment. This includes in and out of our ballrooms. Each city promises to have ample space for each dancer (at least a 6ft x 6ft space per dancer) so make sure to spread out!
- – All attendees will be expected to clean up the space after they leave it, please refrain from bringing competition bags into the ballroom until after the last class on Saturday.
- – If you have any questions at all throughout the weekend please feel free to grab one of our AOM staff members from the front desk!
