REED TANKERSLEY is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area where he began his dance training at the age of five. After graduating from The Juilliard School In 2014 he began working with Twyla Tharp on her 50th-Anniversary Tour and continues to perform with the company. After performing a twelve minute solo originally intended for Baryshnikov, the New York Times referred to him as a “Tharp star.” That same year he was selected to walk in Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2018 fashion show representing New York dance in their millennial-talent campaign during Men’s Fashion Week in Milan.
Tankersley also freelances around the country and has performed works by New York based choreographers including Jessica Lang, Jonah Bokaer, Robert Fairchild, and Chase Brock as well as guesting with various companies including Minnesota Dance Theater and Dances Patrelle. He has performed with musical artists including Charli XCX, Dorian Electra, and Kimbra. Tankersley is one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch for 2017.”
